Really silly brainwashed young lady

I can't believe this... I just saw on the BBC a news report showing the reaction of people in St. Peter's Square to the announcement of the election of a new Pope. At the moment they took these pictures, the people had just seen the white smoke indicating the election of a new Pope (as opposed to a black smoke, you know).

One of the persons waiting at the square is this young woman, very thrilled at seeing the white smoke, she's almost drawn into tears, and you can hear her say "Oh my God, I can't believe it!".

What? You can't believe the Cardinals have chosen a new Pope? You thought that the Cardinals would stay there locked up until the end of times without selecting anybody to replace John Paul II? Wasn't that going to happen anyway sooner or later?

This lady puts a really huge question mark over the intelligence of the Catholics of the world.

Oh, that's a new use for that storage space!

What Chinese textbooks don't say

CNN.com

Hey, regardless of what Japanese school textbooks might say or not say, even the Chinese have some dirty laundry that they won't mention, or might even distort when explaining to their own children!

I don't think they have any moral authority to be pointing fingers on this matter!

Only YOU have the power to Save Toby!

Savetoby.com

What a despicable mother fucker. The guy who owns the website linked above is in practice demanding USD50,000 to save the life of the cute rabbit he's showing on his website.

How do we know that rabbit really exists? And even if it exists, how do we know that its life will really be spared if the guy gets his 50 grand?

How disgusting.

Convicted spammer gets nine-year sentence

CNET News.com

I'm stunned. It says there that that mother fucker spammer was making at least USD500,000 each month! Unbelievable there're so many suckers who fall for the stuff that they peddle with spam mail.

No wonder that crap keeps on coming. If everybody had enough brains to ignore the offers that come in that junk mail, the spammers would get tired of doing that, and perhaps would eventually stop sending that!

Good news for a change!!! I didn't know it was possible to keep diabetes under control to this degree. I wish my brother could do this too.

I wonder if this website is in anyway owned or managed or something by Microsoft. It certainly has the nicest words I've read about Microsoft in a long long time!

Thailand's AIS' "mPay" e-wallet

ais.co.th

I'm interested in knowing how these guys implemented this "solution". But after reading the entire website, I still don't know how it works. Obviously this is gibberish written by a PR team that doesn't really know how the system works!

So, let's say I walk in to a store, choose what I want to buy, and once at the cash register, I say I want to pay with mPay...

... and then what happens?

Do I have to go to a terminal that looks like an ATM and type something? Do I have to send an SMS to the AIS headquarters? Do I have to swipe my mobile somewhere?

I only know that at the end I get a confirmation SMS, and that's why they tie this thing to the pocession of one mobile. But how does the payment process get started?

I bet that not even the guys who wrote the website know.

Gmail really rocks!

They're not just giving much more storage space than the competition, they are also providing very cool functionality! Today I noticed that now it's possible to create e-mail with rich text from within the web browser's user interface! This is really something. I know for sure Yahoo! mail (free version) doesn't have this because I just checked. I wonder if Hotmail does. I don't think so. Wow.

The Pope has finally died in peace...

I wonder how come the Pope chose to die in peace in his apartment without having to go to Federal court, nor being connected forever to machines that would keep him alive artificially. Because I heard in the news that his heart and his kidneys were failing... and for heart functionality, you can use one of those pumps they have in operating theatres; and for kidney replacement, you have dialisys machines, right?

Huh, if he had wanted, he could've been kept alive at least 20 more years I guess. The Vatican and all the Catholics of the world would've happily footed the bill. And about his Parkinson's Desease? I guess that even after his nervous system is impaired for the most part, he can still be kept alive like Terri Schiavo was, can't he?

But still, he chose to die quietly and peacefully at home.

What does that tell to the Schindlers?

Legislation Proposal: Bill targets fronts for prostitution

The Nation

Ha! I think this doesn't have anything to do with complying with the law nor any health concerns. It probably is that the Health Ministry officials want their slice of the bribes that are obviously being paid for this business to keep running. What, do you think this industry is going to shut down or something because of this new law?
