CNN vs BBC

Was that my imagination?  One hour ago I thought the BBC reported that in August and September, combined, the UN has reported an estimate of 6,600 Iraqi civilian deaths.  A couple of minutes ago, the CNN has reported that in average 1,000 Iraqi civilians die each month.

Yeah, these two statements are not strictly contradicting each other.  But you can see the slant, can't you?  Huh, this doesn't feel good.
