Last time I read something about his person (quite a long time ago indeed), he was saying something in the lines of he can't believe how fortunate he is since his carrer was in top shape, earning much more money than he had ever dreamt of, and even had a supermodel girlfriend. Maybe he has come to realize that Blair is a Bush puppet. That would explain it all.
