Electricity bill

I don't understand this.  Now I live in a smaller apartment than before, and since here I have an electric fan, I'm not using the aircon at all, yet my electricity bill is about twice as much as before coming here.

Yesterday I got my electricity bill, and this is the first time I'm living here from begining till end of the billing cycle.  I can't believe, and I don't see how somebody would be stealing electricity from my apartment.  Is it that the water heater for the shower here consumes even more than the aircon at my previous apartment?  Unthinkable.  The fridge here is also much nicer than the previous place, but it can't be.  Then the cooking range is also a lot more powerful than at the old apartment, but I use it only a few minutes each time I cook, it's not on for hours on end.

Is it possible to somehow have a "leak" of electricity?  This just doesn't make sense.
