Friendship with the worker bringing worse service?

I can't believe it... Yesterday I went down to my apartment building's gym, and found that the sauna wasn't hot. I wanted to use it, so I found one of the gym workers who is usually very friendly with me.

He was in the middle of a ping pong game, but I asked him. He told me to find the other worker, but she wasn't anywhere to be seen.

What's this kind of service? So if he becomes your friend, then he feels more in freedom of giving worse service?
